Contract Project | Flexible Delivery Model

Are you an experienced Clinical Trials Project Manager who has progressed through the industry and subsequently moved into Learning & Development, training or capability building?

We are seeking a specialist consultant to help a clinical research organisation design and build practical training programs and structured career pathways for its project management teams.

This is not a traditional L&D; role.

We need someone who has personally worked in Clinical Trials Project Management, understands what progression looks like at each stage and can translate that experience into a meaningful development framework.

The opportunity

You will work closely with senior stakeholders and subject-matter experts to develop a clearly defined Project Management career pathway.

This will include

- Designing and documenting a structured clinical Project Management career pathway
- Defining progression points across different levels of seniority
- Mapping the technical competencies, experience and behaviours required at each level
- Establishing clear expectations for employees wanting to progress
- Identifying capability gaps and associated training requirements
- Creating practical clinical training programs and learning materials
- Aligning training with organisational priorities and employee development
- Producing frameworks that can be implemented and maintained beyond the assignment





Who we are looking for The successful consultant must have:
- Direct experience working in Clinical Trials Project Management
- Progressed through increasingly senior clinical Project Management roles
- Subsequently moved into a training, Learning & Development or capability-focused position
- Previous experience designing Project Management career pathways
- Experience developing competency frameworks and progression criteria
- The ability to translate clinical operations knowledge into practical training
- Strong stakeholder engagement and written communication skills
- The confidence to work independently and deliver a defined project outcome

This role will suit someone who has walked the Clinical Project Management pathway themselves and now helps others navigate it. Engagement options The delivery model is versatile and could be structured as either:
- Approximately 1–2 days per week over an initial three-month period; or
- A more concentrated workload completed over a shorter timeframe

The priority is finding the right specialist and agreeing on a delivery schedule that enables the project to be completed effectively.
