About the Role
HPS is seeking a motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our Corrections Health team.
This unique role provides clinical pharmacy services across a diverse network of metropolitan and regional correctional facilities. Working closely with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in improving medication safety, supporting quality use of medicines and optimising patient outcomes for a complex and often underserved population.
The role offers a combination of metropolitan and regional practice - flights and travel time for regional locations are fully covered by HPS.
Typical Roster The role operates on a rotating monthly roster across correctional facilities including:
Yatala Labour Prison
Adelaide Women's Prison
Adelaide Remand Centre
Adelaide Pre-Release Centre
Mobilong Prison
Cadell Training Centre
Port Augusta Prison
Port Lincoln Prison
Rostered shifts range from 6 to 10 hours, with approximately 85 hours worked over a four-week cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct clinical medication reviews and medication reconciliation
Provide medication advice to medical and nursing staff
Promote medication safety and quality use of medicines
Support governance, audit and quality improvement activities
Participate in multidisciplinary healthcare reviews
Assist with continuity of care and medication management planning
Build strong relationships with healthcare and correctional stakeholders
About You
Current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist (mandatory)
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently across multiple locations
Strong organisational and time management skills
Willingness to travel throughout metropolitan and regional South Australia
Drivers licence
