About the Clients

One specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of high-quality architectural, security and containment solutions for the Government.

One is a long-established Melbourne engineering and fabrication business, delivering custom steel, stainless steel and aluminium fabrication, truck chassis, earthmoving equipment protection, street furniture, shop fittings and general engineering solutions.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced CNC Brake Press Operators/Setters for long-term positions with well-established engineering businesses in Hallam. These are not basic operating roles. Applicants must be capable of independently setting and programming brake presses directly from engineering drawings.

Key responsibilities

- Read and interpret engineering drawings




- Program jobs directly from drawings
- Select, install and align punches and dies
- Set back gauges and bending sequences
- Check bend angles using protractors and measuring equipment
- Calculate bend allowances and adjust programs
- Complete trial bends and make necessary adjustments
- Conduct quality checks to ensure components meet specifications
- Work safely and independently

About you

- Proven CNC brake press operating and setting experience
- The ability to program jobs from engineering drawings
- Strong knowledge of tooling, bend sequences and material behaviour
- Experience using verniers, protractors and other measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience with Yawei, Delem DA-65 or Machtech equipment will be highly regarded
