We are currently seeking applications for a Communication and Engagement Lead to join The Office of the Industry Advocate at The Department of Treasury & Finance. This is a fixed-term opportunity of up to 12 months to provide maternity leave coverage, commencing mid-October 2026.

Remuneration: ASO7 - Salary Range ($116,089 - $125,490 p.a.)

About the opportunity:

The primary role of the Communications and Engagement Lead is to develop, implement, promote and manage program of workshops and events that help build the capability and capacity of South Australian businesses to participate in government contracts, while also strengthening connections between government, industry and local businesses.

The Communications and Engagement Lead will also be responsible for developing and delivering strategic communications and educational materials that promote the work of the agency and the government's commitment to industry participation and job creation.

About you:

The Communications and Engagement Lead is responsible for:

- Leading the planning, development and delivery of events, updates, announcements and interviews across agreed target stakeholder groups including tailored workshops or webinars.
- Leading and managing the delivery of the agency's annual `Meet the Buyer' event, including:
- managing all event logistics
- liaising with event delivery partners and key stakeholders across State Government and the private sector
- collaborating with a range of contractors and external suppliers
- promoting the event across multiple digital and print platforms
- tracking expenses, processing invoices and managing the event's budget.

To be successful you will:

- Demonstrate experience in managing events, on both a small and large scale, along with marketing and promotion of events,



event program coordination and scheduling.
- Have sound understanding of Government guidelines and protocols, such as the Government of South Australia's Marketing Communications Guidelines and Branding Guidelines.
- Demonstrate the ability to exercise skill in public relations and represent the Industry Advocate in a professional manner at all times.
- Extensive experience in preparing and producing a broad range of communication materials such as media releases, website content, social media posts, speeches, articles, briefings and corporate and publications.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate under broad direction, exercise significant levels of independent judgment and identify and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
