A new Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) clinic is being established in Surrey Hills, in Melbourne's inner east, delivering targeted, evidence based neurostimulation for treatment resistant depression. The clinic is affiliated with an established neurosurgical practice next door, and is being built around individualised targeting, measurement based care, and a genuine research minded culture. This is a rare ground floor opportunity to help shape a clinic from the start, rather than join a finished one.

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to provide assessment, prescribing, clinical oversight and referral, on a sessional or collaborative basis, and to be the senior clinical voice as we open. This suits a psychiatrist who wants meaningful involvement in an interventional service without day to day operational burden.

What is involved

Assessment and suitability review for TMS, prescribing and clinical governance of treatment courses, collaborative oversight alongside the treating team, and optional involvement in protocol selection and the clinic's research direction. Targeting will be individualised,



drawing on approaches such as EEG (electroencephalography) guided and, over time, imaging informed methods including fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging).

About you A Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and in good standing. An interest in interventional psychiatry and neurostimulation, and openness to a flexible, sessional engagement with a new, research minded clinic. Existing rTMS training is welcome, and training support is available for the right person. Referral relationships are a plus but not required.
