Phoenix Containers is a WA-owned and operated container business specialising in container sales, hire, modifications and depot services.

We’re looking for a Container Controller to join our Operations team and help keep our busy depot running smoothly.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining container control, administration and yard operations. You’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day movement of containers through our depot, keeping our systems and stock records accurate, and working closely with our Forklift Operator to coordinate what’s coming in and going out each day.

What you'll be doing

- Managing the day-to-day operation of our Cargowise depot system
- Entering releases, pre-receiving containers and gating containers in and out
- Monitoring daily bookings, collections and receivals
- Keeping container stock records accurate and up to date
- Working closely with the Forklift Operator to coordinate daily container movements
- Completing regular stock checks and quarterly physical yard stocktakes
- Monitoring container Maintenance & Repair (M&R;) requirements
- Maintaining depot storage records and completing end-of-month storage invoicing
- Liaising with transport companies, drivers and internal teams
- Investigating and resolving stock or system discrepancies
- Assisting with container surveying, including condition reports and photos




- Helping with container washing, stickering and preparation when required
- Assisting with general yard duties and keeping the depot organised during busy periods

About you

We’re looking for someone who is organised, switched on and happy to get involved. You’ll suit this role if you:

- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in keeping records accurate
- Are confident using computer systems and learning current software
- Can prioritise and keep on top of multiple movements throughout the day
- Communicate well with drivers, transport companies and other team members
- Are comfortable working between an office and active depot/yard environment
- Are willing to jump in and help the team when required
- Can work independently and use initiative to solve problems
- Have a strong focus on safety
- Have previous experience in containers, transport, logistics, warehousing or depot operations — highly regarded, but not essential

Experience with Cargowise would be a big advantage, however training can be provided for the right person.
