About the role
Work from home with an online team of counsellors providing career inspiration for young people as part of a schools program through Microsoft Teams. You will be interviewing Year 10 students from mainly private and independent schools, to help them to understand their career profiles and to inspire and explore course and career options with them. Training in the nature of the profiles will be provided.
Key responsibilities
- Interview Year 10 students to help them understand their career profiles
- Explore course and career options with students
About you
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, HR or career counselling with professional counselling training
- Professional accreditation in the MBTI or Majors PTI
- At least 5 years experience as a careers counsellor
- Good current knowledge of Australian tertiary courses, entry requirements and career outcomes
- Able to inspire young people
- Able to work as part of a team
- Familiar with online communications platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom
- Have your own private home office with the appropriate IT resources
- Working with Children Check approval
About us Career Avenues is a professional career consultancy which provides career profiling programs to independent schools in the Eastern states. We have a very experienced team of career professionals who provide an interview service to our client schools.
This position is up to two days per week during terms 1 and 2. It would suit a career consultant who already has a professional practice and would like some sessional work. Our work is concentrated in the first 2 terms of the school year, so is seasonal. The position would start officially in February 2027.
