About the role
As a Registered Midwife, you will provide safe, high-quality and compassionate care to women and their babies throughout the maternity journey.
Key responsibilities
- Providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care
- Supporting women throughout labour and birth
- Monitoring maternal and fetal wellbeing and escalating concerns appropriately
- Assisting with normal vaginal births and supporting women with complex maternity needs
- Providing postnatal care to mothers and newborns
- Supporting breastfeeding and providing education to women and their families
- Administering medications and treatments in line with hospital policies
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and patient records
- Working collaboratively with obstetricians, nurses,
neonatal staff and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Participating in clinical handovers and maintaining continuity of care
About you
- Minimum 2 years' recent midwifery experience within Australia
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
- Recent hospital-based maternity experience
- Robust clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including days, nights and weekends
