Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.
The Team & Role
This position provides a lead role in the timely preparation and delivery of high-quality meals to patients, residents, and other consumers, in accordance with dietary, safety, and hygiene standards. The position incumbent ensures the kitchen and food service areas are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness and compliance, and actively contributes to a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The role supports team coordination, promotes a positive workplace culture, and upholds the values of Kooweerup Regional Health Service through respectful, person-centred service delivery.
Skills & Experience Required
Mandatory
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Certificate in Secure Food Handling
- Current National Police Check
- Proven experience in commercial cooking, preferably in health or aged care settings
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily operations
- Experience working effectively in multidisciplinary team environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work efficiently in a dynamic setting
- Physical capacity for manual handling and kitchen duties
· Commitment to food safety, quality improvement, and confidentiality
Desirable
- Certificate III or IV Community Services (Aged Care) or recent experience in a Residential Aged Care environment
- First Aid Certificate
- Experience in the Healthcare Industry relevant to the Food & Domestic Services Department.
