Business Review Group is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator / Cost Modeller to support a complex Defence capability environment in Canberra.

This opportunity would suit a strong analytical skilled with experience across cost estimation, modelling, statistical analysis and data-driven decision support.

Location: Canberra, ACT

Security Clearance: NV1 minimum

Engagement: Full-time

Sector: Defence / Federal Government

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain and review cost estimates and cost models.
- Build and maintain models using ACEIT and other relevant analytical tools.
- Undertake quantitative, statistical and data analysis to support forecasting and decision-making.
- Analyse historical cost, schedule and program data to identify trends and inform estimates.
- Conduct sensitivity, scenario, risk and uncertainty analysis.
- Support lifecycle and whole-of-life cost modelling.
- Prepare reports, briefings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with project, finance, engineering and capability teams.

Essential Requirements

- Demonstrated experience in cost estimation, cost modelling or cost analysis.
- Hands-on experience using ACEIT.




- Strong statistical, quantitative and data analysis capability.
- Experience developing defensible cost models and assumptions.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with complex datasets.
- Strong written and stakeholder communication skills.
- Active NV1 security clearance or higher.

Highly Desirable

- Defence capability, acquisition or sustainment experience.
- Lifecycle cost estimation or investment analysis experience.
- Experience with Monte Carlo, forecasting or probabilistic analysis.
- Exposure to Power BI, Python, R, SQL or similar analytical tools.
- Relevant qualifications in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, data analytics or a related discipline.
