Job Description

THE ROLEThe Senior Emergency Management Coordinator supports the Manager, Emergency Management to develop, maintain and coordinate divisional and regional planning and response for the Department of Families Fairness and Housing surge capacity, emergency relief and recovery operations and business continuity.

The role requires the establishment and maintenance of robust networks and relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders and assists in the coordination of emergencies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDEPlan, implement and manage a range of policy initiatives and programs that improve the lives of Victorians most at risk in emergencies as well as completing policy reviews which provide recommendations within resourcing, timeline, and budget parameters.

Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex policy and issues.





Monitor and report on high-priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports and briefs.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent.

- Shift times: Mix of 0800 - 1730 | 1400 - 2330 | 2230 - 0830.
- Rates: Days $160 per hour | Nights $190 per hour.
- Travel and accommodation provided.
- Please note that all rates are inclusive of superannuation, taxes, and casual loading, where applicable.
