HIFLOW INTEGRATED SERVICES GROUP PTY LTD is a leading Australian multi-service building services company with over 150 team members, delivering HVAC&R;, Fire, Electrical and associated services to major commercial clients across Australia.
As Hiflow continues its significant national growth, we are seeking an experienced and self-driven National Fire Services Manager to lead and further develop our growing Fire Services business.
Ideally based from our Melbourne office , this is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced fire industry professional with a strong background in fire projects, estimating, service delivery and operational management .
With significant growth occurring across Victoria and nationally, we are looking for someone who can take ownership of the division, support our existing Fire Services Managers and help take our Fire business to the next level.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO , the National Fire Services Manager will have overall leadership responsibility for Hiflow's national Fire Services operations, with a particular focus on growing and strengthening both our Fire Projects and Fire Service divisions .
You will work closely with our CEO, COO, CFO, State Managers and Fire Services Managers to develop and implement strategies that drive sustainable growth, operational excellence and profitability.
A major focus of this position will be strengthening our Fire Projects capability . You will bring extensive experience in project estimating, tendering, project delivery and commercial management, while supporting our teams to identify and successfully deliver new project opportunities.
This is a hands-on senior leadership position requiring someone who understands both the technical and commercial sides of the fire industry and can lead teams, manage risk, improve profitability and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
National Leadership: Provide leadership, direction and support to Hiflow's Fire Services teams across Australia.
Grow Fire Projects: Drive the continued development and growth of our Fire Projects division, identifying opportunities across both new and existing clients.
Project Estimating & Tendering: Provide leadership and expertise across estimating, tender preparation, pricing, scope reviews and project submissions.
Project Delivery: Oversee major fire projects from tender and award through mobilisation, delivery, commissioning and financial close-out.
Commercial Performance: Take ownership of divisional financial performance, including revenue, margins, budgets, WIP,
forecasting and profitability.
Service Division Growth: Work closely with our Fire Services Managers to continue expanding our recurring maintenance and service portfolio nationally.
Operational Excellence: Review and improve operational processes, systems, productivity and overall service delivery.
Compliance & Quality: Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, contractual requirements and Hiflow's safety and quality expectations.
Team Development: Mentor and support Fire Services Managers, project managers, estimators, coordinators and technicians to build a high-performing national team.
Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, facility managers, property managers, consultants and other industry stakeholders.
New Contract Mobilisation: Provide senior oversight of new contract and project mobilisation to ensure successful transition into operations.
Strategic Growth: Work with Hiflow's leadership team to identify new markets, clients, capabilities and opportunities for continued national expansion.
Industry Representation: Represent Hiflow professionally within the fire protection and broader building services industries.
About You
We are looking for an established fire industry leader who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, project experience and excellent people leadership.
Importantly, you will have a proven background in fire projects and understand what is required to estimate, win, manage and successfully deliver profitable fire projects.
You will be comfortable operating at a senior level while still being prepared to get involved when your team needs support.
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
Extensive experience within the Fire Protection industry .
Strong experience in fire project estimating and project management .
Demonstrated experience delivering significant fire projects from estimating through to completion.
Strong knowledge across fire detection, EWIS, wet and dry fire systems and associated fire protection services.
Experience managing both service and project operations .
Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Strong commercial and financial management capability.
Experience managing budgets, forecasts, project margins and WIP.
Strong understanding of Australian Standards and fire industry compliance requirements.
Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to identify and develop new project and service opportunities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A collaborative leadership style with excellent people skills.
High levels of initiative, accountability and drive.
Qualifications & Experience
Ideally 10+ years' experience within the Fire Protection or Building Services industry, including significant leadership experience.
Strong demonstrated background in Fire Projects, estimating and project delivery .
Electrical trade background or relevant Fire Protection industry qualifications highly regarded.
QBCC licensing and/or FPA Australia accreditation advantageous but not essential.
Demonstrated experience leading operational and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience with Uptick or similar Fire Services management platforms would be advantageous.
