Clinical Director / Head of Department – Medicine

About the Role

Lead the Department of Medicine in a modern regional hospital, providing strategic, clinical and operational leadership. Ensure safe, high-quality patient care while driving service development, workforce excellence and innovation. Approximately 50% of the role is clinical.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead governance, service planning and performance improvement
- Manage workforce recruitment, training and wellbeing
- Drive education, research and accreditation
- Champion innovative care models, including Virtual Care
- Lead quality, safety and risk initiatives
- Build strong stakeholder partnerships
- FRACP and AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
- Senior leadership experience in General Medicine or similar specialty
- Experience in governance, workforce and service development
- Strong communication and change management skills
- Passion for education and research
