We're looking for a Data Analyst with an understanding of data engineering and how data pipelines, warehousing, and data structures work.

About the Role The program’s strategic focus for the next two years centres on reporting, analytics, and data utilisation across NSW Government.

- Key responsibilities include supporting agencies with data ingestion into the NSW Data Analytics Centre (DAC), assisting with data cleansing and alignment with data models, and producing high-quality visualisations and analytics.
- Strong background in data analytics, with some understanding of data engineering and how data pipelines, warehousing, and data structures work.
- Familiarity with data governance, data custodianship,



policy compliance, and a solid security mindset.
- Work between technical discussions (e.g., ingestion, data cleansing, Snowflake, ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory/Databricks) and business-level conversations (e.g., data dictionaries, data models).
- Supporting complex programs and working under pressure with resilience, confidence (but not arrogance), adaptability, and strong interpersonal style suited to the existing high-performing team.
- Visualisation layer built primarily in Power BI.

About You

- Ideally 5+ years' experience working as a data analyst.
- Strong capability in data visualisation, particularly using Power BI.
- ETL and transformation tools including Azure Data Factory / Databricks.
- Some experience working in the government sector would be advantageous (NOT essential).
