Role Description The Data Analyst (Entry / Junior) will support program and operational teams by collecting, cleaning, and managing data from multiple sources to ensure accurate reporting and decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include preparing datasets, performing basic statistical analyses, creating dashboards and visual reports, and assisting in monitoring and evaluation activities.

The analyst will collaborate with colleagues to translate data findings into clear, actionable insights and help improve data quality and documentation across projects. This is a part time role based in Melbourne, VIC, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. The position is well suited to candidates who are early in their data career and eager to learn within an international development context.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and foundational experience in data analytics to interpret project and operational data effectively.




- Candidates should possess knowledge of statistics and basic data modeling techniques to support monitoring, evaluation, and forecasting activities.
- Candidates should possess clear communication skills to present complex data in accessible formats for diverse stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with common data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI or similar, basic SQL or statistical software) and demonstrate a willingness to learn new platforms.
- Relevant academic background in data science, statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or a related field at diploma or degree level is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, manage time effectively in a part-time hybrid setting, and maintain high standards of data confidentiality and integrity.
- Interest in international development, child rights, and gender equality, and prior internship or volunteer experience in NGOs or community projects will be considered an asset.
