TSS is partnering with Yilgarn Iron on the restart and development of the Yilgarn Iron Ore Hub. Yilgarn Iron is focused on the responsible operation of its iron ore assets across the Yilgarn region, including Koolyanobbing, Windarling, and Parker Range. With a large tenement footprint and an expanding exploration program, the team is now strengthening its geological data capability.

About the Role

Yilgarn Iron is seeking a Database Geologist to take ownership of all geological data across exploration and production activities. This role will manage the geological database, support upcoming drilling programs, ensure data quality, and assist with tenement review and annual reporting. The position is Perth-based and works closely with the geology team to ensure clean, reliable data flows across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain the geological database (Geobank preferred; Acquire or DataShed also suitable).
- Ensure data integrity across grade control, exploration, and drill/blast datasets.




- Support the commencement of the drilling program (initially one RC rig).
- Oversee sampling workflows and ensure accurate, timely data capture.
- Liaise closely with exploration and production geologists to coordinate data requirements.
- Conduct tenement reviews across ~160 tenements to identify high-priority areas.
- Assist with annual tenement reporting, including drafting and collating required documentation.
- Apply geological or data science skills to improve data management, workflows, and insights.

Key Requirements

- Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geoscience, or Data Science.
- Experience with geological databases (Geobank, Acquire, or DataShed).
- Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and integration across exploration and production.
- Experience supporting drilling programs and sampling processes is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret geological information and contribute to tenement assessments.
- Solid attention to detail with disciplined data management practices.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with technical stakeholders.
