Employment Details

- 2 x Permanent Part Time Positions
- Up to 20 hours per week

- SACS Level 1.3
- Victorian Disability Services (NGO) Agreement 2023
- NFP Salary Packaging: Access up to $15,900 per year for everyday living expenses, plus up to $2,650 for meal entertainment

About the Opportunity Bayley House is seeking two Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our Day Programs team at Middle Crescent, Brighton.

In this role, you will provide practical, respectful and person-centred personal care support to adults with intellectual disability while they participate in our Day Programs.

Working alongside Instructors, Program Managers and other members of the Day Programs team, you will support participants with their individual personal care needs and daily activities, helping ensure they can participate comfortably, safely and with dignity throughout their day.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is compassionate, reliable and comfortable providing personal care to people with a range of support needs.

About the Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, your primary focus will be providing personal care and practical assistance in accordance with each participant's individual support plan, preferences and needs.

You will work under routine supervision, either independently or as part of the broader Day Programs team, with on-the-job training provided where required.

The role will also involve maintaining accurate participant records, communicating important information to relevant staff and supporting other day-to-day activities as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide respectful and person-centred personal care to adults with intellectual disability in accordance with individual support plans and goals.




- Assist participants with personal care requirements while maintaining dignity, privacy, choice and independence.
- Use appropriate equipment and safe work practices when providing personal care and physical assistance.
- Support participants with a range of support needs, including complex support needs where required.
- Assist with other daily support activities, including meal preparation and mealtime support as directed.
- Communicate relevant participant information clearly and promptly to Instructors, Program Managers and other members of the support team.
- Maintain accurate participant records, diary notes and other required documentation.
- Follow individual support plans and relevant health and safety requirements.
- Identify and promptly report changes, concerns, incidents or risks relating to participant wellbeing.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness when providing personal care.
- Work collaboratively with Instructors, Program Managers and colleagues to support the smooth delivery of Day Programs.
- Participate in required training, supervision, meetings and professional development.
- Comply with Bayley House policies, procedures, NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct and workplace health and safety requirements.

About You You are compassionate, reliable and respectful, with a genuine interest in supporting people with disability.

You understand the importance of providing personal care in a way that protects each person's dignity, privacy and choice. You are comfortable working closely with people who may have complex support needs and can remain calm, professional and responsive in a busy Day Programs environment.

You enjoy working as part of a team, communicate clearly and understand the importance of following support plans, safe work practices and established procedures.

You Will Ideally Have

- Previous experience providing personal care, preferably within disability, aged care, health or community services.
- Experience supporting people with intellectual disability and/or complex support needs, or a willingness to undertake relevant training.
- A genuine commitment to the wellbeing, dignity and inclusion of people with disability.
- Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and safe practice when providing personal care.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills,



with the ability to engage professionally with a broad range of participants and staff.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to follow individual support plans, policies, procedures and safe work practices.
- Basic computer skills, including using email and maintaining electronic participant records.

Prior to Commencing, All Employees Will Require:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
- Applicants must have full and unrestricted working rights in Australia for the duration of their employment with Bayley House. Applicants are required to provide evidence of their working rights as part of the recruitment process.
