The Role

Command Support Branch is seeking a high-performing EL1 Deputy Executive Security Advisor to support the Vice Chief of the Defence Force Group (VCDFG) in the delivery of security governance, assurance, compliance and risk management outcomes.

As the VCDFG Deputy Executive Security Advisor and Command Support Branch Security Officer, you will provide trusted advice to senior leaders, manage complex security matters and contribute to the continual improvement of VCDFG’s security posture.

You will lead the coordination and delivery of security services across VCDFG, including:

- Security governance and assurance;
- Personnel security and clearance sponsorship, including Personnel Security Risk Sharing;
- Security incident management and reporting;
- Overseas travel security briefings and debriefings;
- Security awareness and communication activities;
- Security standing orders management;
- Security on and off boarding processes;
- Business continuity planning activities;
- Support to various Defence security committees and governance forums;
- Management and support of the VCDFG Security Officer and COMSO Network; and
- Fraud and corruption activities.

You will engage extensively with senior Defence leaders, Security and Estate Group, enterprise Executive Security Advisors, security officers and other internal and external stakeholders to identify risks, influence outcomes and strengthen security culture across VCDFG.

This role requires sound judgement, strategic thinking and the ability to balance competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in a dynamic setting.

About our Team The VCDF Security team are within Command Support Branch. The VCDF Security team serves as the principle security advisory function for VCDFG. The team supports security governance, personnel security, security risk management, compliance monitoring, and security awareness,



governance committee engagement, while supporting Business Continuity and Fraud and Corruption activities.

Working closely with security stakeholders across Defence, the team helps safeguard Defence personnel, information and capabilities

Security Clearance:
