At a time of rapid change in society and in higher education, the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) is critical as the University of Melbourne charts its way forward, seeking to optimise what we offer our students, balancing contemporary relevance with driving excellence in education and supporting the delivery of our well-established Melbourne Model for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Reporting to the Provost and a member of the University Executive, the DVC (Education) is accountable for the strategic leadership, development and delivery of the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs and the student experience across teaching, learning and assessment, teaching and learning infrastructure, digital education, widening participation and academic quality.

The DVC (Education)



leads and oversees the Advancing Students and Education strategy which is the primary educational strategy that supports the University’s Strategy 2030, advancing all aspects of the University’s curriculum offerings and access to academic programs, as well as navigating and influencing regulatory systems and higher education policies.

With a proven capacity to lead change and build productive and collaborative relationships, our next Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) will be highly strategic, flexible, innovative and commercially astute. They will be deeply committed to an outstanding student experience which is supported by high calibre teaching and learning and excellent academic programs.
