Our services encompass extra high voltage transmission grids, power distribution networks, and consumer-end electric supply facilities. We also offer customised, integrated solutions for protection system design, automation, control and communication, all tailored to our clients' needs.
About the role
We are currently looking for a Design Manager to join our Adelaide office. The Design Manager will build and maintain strong relationships across our client base and facilitate the effective delivery of design packages to our client’s expectations. Reporting to the APAC Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating teams of engineers to successfully deliver transmission lines projects.
Responsibilities The Design Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality design solutions for high voltage transmission lines, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and contributing to strategic planning and innovation.
- Design Oversight:
Managed the preparation of project evaluations and feasibility studies, ensuring all designs met technical and project-specific requirements.
- Team Coordination: Collaborated across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and cohesive design solutions.
- Client Engagement: Maintained strong client relationships, ensuring alignment with project goals and driving successful outcomes, engaging actively in Interactive sessions with external stakeholders.
- Technical Document Development: Authored comprehensive presentation/ document packages, ensuring clarity and consistency with project expectation and timelines.
- Innovation Leadership: Spearheaded the development and implementation of creative solutions for transmission line engineering, procurement and construction. Your solution shall offer a flexible, low-impact, and environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional practice, particularly suited for clients’ expectations.
- Sustainability Focus: Ensuring the design meets performance criteria while aligning with contemporary environmental and sustainability standards.
? What You’ll Bring
Hard Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical/civil/structural engineering or related field
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering design and project management in the transmission lines or power sector
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects
- Proficient in PLS software preferred
- Demonstrated capability in the development of innovative concepts for solutions to technical, complex issues
- Competent understanding of Australian and International codes and standards and risk and contingency assessment
- Competent in the use of MS Power Point, MS Office and MS Project
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with excellent interpersonal skills
- High level of attention to detail and ability to work proactively
- Ability to work confidently both as part of a team and autonomously
- Excellent presentation skills
