Diesel Fitter | Heavy Vehicle & Equipment | Afternoon Shift

Brendale, Brisbane | $60 per hour + super + applicable shift penalties & overtime Heavy Duty Engines & Transmissions (HDET) is a growing, family-owned business with over 25 years' experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles, engines and driveline systems.

Based in Brendale on Brisbane's northside, we operate from our workshop as well as providing field service support to customers across the region.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Diesel Fitter with OEM experience to join our team on afternoon shift.

This role requires someone with strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities who is experienced with OEM diagnostic systems and software and is confident diagnosing complex engine and driveline faults independently.

Please note: OEM experience is an essential requirement for this position. This is not an apprentice position.

About the Role

- Advanced diagnostics and fault finding
- Engine and driveline diagnosis and repair
- Service,



maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Use OEM diagnostic software and systems to diagnose and rectify faults
- Workshop and field service work as required
- Complete service reports and job documentation accurately
- Liaise professionally with customers when required
- Work independently while contributing to a small, experienced team

About You

To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter
- Previous OEM experience
- Demonstrated experience using OEM diagnostic software and systems
- Proven heavy vehicle, engine or heavy equipment experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
- Strong understanding of electronic engine management systems
- Ability to confidently diagnose faults and identify the underlying cause
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs
- Current manual driver's licence
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Own tools
- Australian work authorisation

Experience with the following will be particularly valuable:
- Detroit Diesel
- Allison Transmissions
- Mercedes-Benz
- MTU engines
- HR driver's licence
