The Australia Institute of Future Education (AIFE) is seeking an experienced and visionary Director Teaching & Learning Design Innovation to lead the design and development of teaching and learning approaches across AIFE’s growing network of education partnerships.

Reporting to the Executive Director Academic Operations, this senior leadership role will provide strategic and operational leadership across learning design, digital learning environments and partner delivery, supporting the continued development of AIFE’s Cloud Campus and the delivery of high-quality, scalable learning experiences.

About the Role

As Director Teaching & Learning Design Innovation, you will lead a specialist team responsible for learning design, learning management system operations and digital learning innovation. You will work closely with partner universities, academic leaders, technology providers and internal stakeholders to ensure our learning environments support exceptional teaching and student outcomes.

Key areas of focus include:

- Leading the design and continuous improvement of online and blended learning experiences
- Providing strategic oversight of Cloud Campus learning environments across Canvas and Moodle platforms
- Building and strengthening relationships with domestic and international education partners
- Driving digital learning innovation and scalable delivery models
- Leading onboarding, support and engagement initiatives for partner institutions and academic stakeholders




- Managing multiple learning design and implementation projects across a growing portfolio of education partnerships
- Coaching and developing a multidisciplinary team of learning design and LMS specialists

About You

You are an experienced educational leader who thrives in complex stakeholder environments and enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

You bring

- Significant experience leading learning design, teaching and learning, educational technology or online education functions within higher education
- Deep knowledge of learning management systems such as Canvas and Moodle
- Proven success building relationships and influencing diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing competing priorities
- Strong project management capability with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously
- An understanding of instructional design, student engagement and quality assurance frameworks
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- A postgraduate qualification in Education, Learning Design, Instructional Design or a related field
