About this prospect
This position leads the implementation of economic development strategies and initiatives, supporting business growth and investment across the Scenic Rim. The role acts as a case manager for businesses seeking to establish or expand their operations and delivers initiatives across economic development, investment attraction, workforce development, business and industry development, and marketing and promotion. The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim.

- Lead the implementation of actions identified within the Economic Development Strategy 2026-2030,
Agribusiness and Agritourism Industry Development Roadmap 2022-2032 and the Smart Region Strategy, with the goal of driving strategic direction to grow the region’s economy. These projects are to be delivered within Council's operational budget and may be supported by external grant funding.
- Assist the Coordinator Economic Development in the preparation of project progress reports and Council presentation and reports along with investment attraction initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact within Council for programs, including being the primary point of contact with the region's chambers of commerce, key working and steering groups.
About you…
- Tertiary qualification of degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a range of organisations and agencies including Queensland and Australian government departments, industry representative groups, local tourism, chambers of commerce and training organisations.
- Experience working in an economic and business and industry development environment, with a proven track record in delivering projects which drive quantifiable economic outcomes.

This position comes with a base remuneration from Level 4 to Level 6 $86,992.20 - $108,750.62 per annum, and up to 13% employer superannuation contribution and much more.
