About the role

Cairnlea Kindy & Child Care Centre is seeking a dedicated and passionate Educator to join our team on a casual basis. This position offers the flexibility of casual work while providing meaningful contributions to early childhood education and care. Based in Cairnlea, you will work in a supportive and nurturing environment, supporting children's development through play-based learning and quality interactions.

The successful candidate will hold either a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or a Certificate III in Childcare, enabling you to deliver high-quality educational experiences to children in our care.

Key responsibilities

- Creating and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning activities and experiences for children
- Providing safe, supportive and nurturing care to children of various ages within the service
- Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic and secure learning environment that promotes child wellbeing
- Observing and documenting children's learning and development progress
- Communicating regularly with parents and carers regarding children's experiences and development
- Supporting the implementation of the service's curriculum framework and educational programs
- Following and adhering to all service policies,



procedures and child protection guidelines
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment and supporting colleagues as needed
- Maintaining accurate records and participating in team meetings and professional development activities

What we're looking for

- Current Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Certificate III in Childcare qualification
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to create engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote child development
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding responsibilities
- Flexibility and adaptability to working in a casual capacity
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and professional practice
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance or eligibility to obtain
- A sound understanding and knowledge of the VELYF, NQS and Victorian Child Safe Standards
