Role

Join the Transit Lounge, Patient Flow team at Redland Hospital and play an important role in providing safe, compassionate and person-centred care while supporting the productive movement of patients through the hospital. You will:

- Provide safe, compassionate and individualised nursing care within your scope of practice, working collaboratively with the RN and broader healthcare team.
- Support effective patient flow and discharge planning, including care for patients receiving minor procedures, infusions and other services within the Transit Lounge.
- Contribute to quality, infection prevention, safety and risk management initiatives while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and effective use of the Electronic Medical Record.
- Participate in education, professional development, quality improvement and support for new and less experienced staff, with opportunities to work across specialist outpatient clinics as required.

About You We are looking for a compassionate and adaptable Enrolled Nurse who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and contributing positively to a collaborative clinical team. You have:

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse, with medication endorsement.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe, evidence-based nursing practice and the ability to recognise, escalate and respond appropriately to patient care and safety concerns.
- Strong communication,



teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the empathy, integrity, respect and accountability needed to work effectively with patients, carers and colleagues.
- A commitment to ongoing learning, reflective practice and developing your clinical knowledge and skills in patient flow and acute and sub-acute care.

Unit Profile The Transit Lounge provides an environment which allows for care of patients whilst in transit into and out of Redland Hospital,



and for the safe and effective delivery of simple medical procedures and infusions. It facilitates effective discharge planning by enabling the timely transfer of patients from acute wards to the Transit Lounge whilst being responsive to the changing demands and hospital requirements.

The Transit

Lounge provides an environment for the delivery of minor medical procedures and infusion of medications and blood and blood products to minimise hospitalisation. Successful applicant/s may also be required to work in specialist outpatient clinics.
