Join the Medical Unit at Kurri Kurri District Hospital, a valued part of the Lower Hunter community serving Kurri Kurri, Abermain, Weston and Heddon Greta.

Our Medical

Unit provides care to patients with a diverse range of medical needs, giving you the opportunity to build your clinical skills, gain valuable experience and make a meaningful difference to patients and their families. You'll be part of a close-knit and supportive team, working alongside experienced Registered Nurses and senior nursing staff who will support you to develop your confidence and capability. Whether you're an experienced Enrolled Nurse or looking to broaden your clinical experience, you'll be supported through a structured buddy program, guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager and ongoing education and professional development opportunities.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will:

- Provide safe, high-quality and person-centred care within your scope of practice.
- Provide direct nursing care and support patients with their daily care needs.
- Undertake delegated clinical activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with clinical procedures, observations and patient care activities.
- Support patients and their families through compassionate communication and education.
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, medical staff and allied health professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Contribute to a safe, respectful and positive environment for patients and colleagues.
- Participate in education, professional development and quality improvement activities.

Previous medical nursing experience is desirable, but not essential. If you're motivated to learn and grow, we'd love to hear from you.

Essential Requirements

- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, person-centred care within scope of practice.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Additional Information To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
