North Sydney

Are you curious about environmental information, data and how things work? Do you enjoy investigating problems, making connections and asking why?

Lotsearch is looking for a high-potential graduate to join our two-year Environmental & Spatial Graduate Program. This is an opportunity to build a solid foundation in environmental and spatial data while gaining broad exposure to how a growing Australian business operates.

You don’t need to know exactly where you want your career to take you. Our Graduate Program is designed to help you build your capabilities, understand the business from the ground up and discover where your strengths can make the greatest contribution.

About Lotsearch

Lotsearch provides environmental information and insights that help professionals better understand environmental risk associated with land and property. We bring together environmental data, spatial information, historical research and technology to create products used by environmental and property professionals across Australia.

We’re a growing business with a close, collaborative team and a shared purpose: helping create a more environmentally aware Australia.

The Graduate Program

Over approximately two years, you’ll progressively build your technical, environmental and business capability through structured training, rotations and real project experience. Phase 1 – Build your foundations

During your first six months, you’ll work across our core operational teams and learn how Lotsearch environmental information and reports are created.

You’ll gain exposure to environmental and contamination datasets, aerial imagery and historical maps, spatial data, data standards and quality processes. Importantly, you’ll learn to think beyond the process — understanding what the information means, why it matters and how it contributes to quality environmental information.

You’ll also begin learning about our clients and industry and have opportunities to attend industry events.

Phase 2 – Broaden your experience

Over the following 9–12 months, you’ll rotate through different areas of Lotsearch and contribute to real business projects.

Depending on the opportunities available, this could include environmental research, data mapping, data automation, quality, new product development and other business initiatives.

Phase 3 – Take ownership In the final phase, you’ll take ownership of a significant project designed to contribute to Lotsearch’s growth, products or broader purpose.

By then, we’ll also have a much better understanding of your strengths, interests and where you could make your greatest contribution beyond the Graduate Program.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with the potential and appetite to grow with us.

You’ll ideally

· Be completing your final semester or have recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geography, Geospatial Science/GIS, Earth Science or another relevant discipline.

· Be a curious and critical thinker who wants to understand why, not just learn a process.

· Enjoy working with information, investigating problems and drawing conclusions.

· Have strong spatial reasoning and an aptitude for learning technical concepts.

· Take ownership of your work and naturally check that your work is accurate and makes sense.

· Communicate your thinking clearly, both verbally and in writing.

· Be open to feedback and able to apply what you’ve learned to new situations.

· Be interested in understanding clients and how a commercial business works,

as well as the technical and environmental aspects of the role.

Experience with GIS or digital mapping is advantageous but not essential. We’ll provide training; we’re more interested in your aptitude and ability to learn.

Why start your career at Lotsearch?

You’ll have the opportunity to: · Gain broad exposure rather than being confined to one narrow graduate function.

· Work closely with experienced team members and senior leaders across the business.

· Take on meaningful responsibility as your capability grows.

· Build connections across a close, supportive team where people care about what they do and each other.

· Gain exposure to clients, industry events and professional networks.

· Explore different career directions as you discover where your strengths and interests can create the most value.

The role is based in our North Sydney office, conveniently located close to train, Metro, bus and ferry services.

Commencement

We’re looking for candidates who will have completed their university studies and be ready to commence full-time work following their final exams. Our preferred commencement is November 2026, with an earlier start available for the right candidate who has already completed their studies.

Australian work rights are essential for this role.
