Core Talent are currently partnering with a growing WA-based contractor who are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team, bringing strong mining, piping and water infrastructure experience. This is a key opportunity for an Estimator who has hands-on experience pricing piping and water infrastructure works within the mining industry and understands the commercial and operational requirements of working in the resources sector.

The successful candidate will play an important role in pricing and securing upcoming mining projects, managing tenders from initial review through to submission and working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams. This role would suit someone who has a strong understanding of how mining projects operate, combined with solid technical estimating experience across piping and water infrastructure.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on estimating position where you’ll take ownership of tenders from initial review through to final submission, developing competitive and commercially sound pricing for upcoming mining projects.You’ll be responsible for coordinating supplier and subcontractor pricing, developing methodologies and tender documentation, identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and supporting the business through the tender and project handover process. There is also an opportunity to contribute to business development, leverage existing industry relationships and play a genuine role in supporting the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage tender submissions from initial review through to final submission.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive pricing for civil and piping projects.




- Obtain and assess pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop project methodologies, qualifications, assumptions and clarification registers.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost impacts.
- Support contract negotiations and the handover of successful projects to the delivery team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Utilise industry networks to identify upcoming opportunities and support business development.
- Contribute to estimating strategies, cost benchmarking and market positioning.
- Assist with improving estimating processes, cost libraries and systems.
- Work collaboratively with project and management teams to ensure tenders are commercially and technically sound.

About You: We’re looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in piping and water infrastructure within the mining industry. This is not a generalist estimating position — the successful candidate will need to understand how mining projects are delivered and be comfortable working within the mining environment.

Ideally, you will have:

- Strong estimating experience across piping works, particularly HDPE, steel and PVC.
- Experience with water infrastructure projects within the mining industry.
- Previous mining experience is essential,



with a strong understanding of how the mining industry operates and the requirements of working within this environment.
- Experience estimating civil construction works associated with mining and resources projects.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end tendering process.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies, materials and cost estimation.
- Proven ability to prepare competitive and commercially sound tenders.
- Robust commercial acumen, with the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
- Experience coordinating and assessing subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- A proactive and commercially driven approach.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is desirable.
