About the role

Working alongside the existing estimator and management team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates and tenders for projects ranging from straightforward roofing works through to complex architectural and heritage projects. The role involves working with traditional and architectural roofing systems including natural slate, clay roof tiles, lead, copper, zinc, aluminium, architectural standing seam and other specialist metal roofing and cladding systems.

Key responsibilities

- Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Completing accurate roof and cladding take-offs
- Preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissions
- Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Assessing labour, material, plant and access requirements
- Identifying exclusions, risks and items requiring clarification
- Liaising with builders, architects, suppliers and project team
- Reviewing tender addenda and preparing quotation revisions
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and project information
- Assisting with project handover from estimating to operations

About you

- Strong estimating fundamentals with ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications
- Ability to produce accurate take-offs and think commercially
- Experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying (advantageous)
- Experience in roofing and cladding (advantageous)
- Experience in architectural sheet metal (advantageous)




- Experience in residential or commercial construction (advantageous)
- Experience in building envelope works (advantageous)
- Experience in heritage construction (advantageous)
- Ability to read architectural and structural documentation (advantageous)
- Experience with estimating software and digital take-off systems (advantageous)

We undertake projects throughout Western Australia and work with builders, architects, government organisations and private clients on projects where workmanship, technical knowledge and attention to detail matter. In addition to conventional roofing, our team works with materials and systems that are relatively uncommon in Australia, including natural slate, traditional clay tiles, leadwork, copper, zinc and architectural metal roofing.

We also operate our own sheet-metal and roll-forming workshop in Wangara.
