About the role

Solidcast is a growing precast concrete and modular construction business based in Wauchope on the Mid North Coast of NSW. We are seeking an experienced Estimator to take responsibility for preparing accurate and commercially sound tenders across a range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. This is not simply a quantity take-off role.

The successful candidate must be able to review drawings and specifications, understand the complete scope of work, think about buildability and ensure that all costs are adequately allowed for.

Key responsibilities

- Review drawings and specifications to understand the complete scope.
- Assess buildability, production methodology and installation requirements.
- Identify difficult details, design gaps, coordination issues and pricing risks.
- Review outsourced take-offs for obvious omissions or inconsistencies.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Liaise with clients throughout the tender process, provide timely updates and maintain strong ongoing relationships.
- Prepare tender clarifications, exclusions and assumptions.




- Produce a complete tender recommendation for final approval.
- Assist with negotiations and hand over awarded projects to the delivery team.

About you

- Demonstrated construction estimating experience
- Experience in precast concrete, structural concrete, civil construction or a related field
- Strong drawing-reading and scope-review skills
- A practical understanding of construction methodology
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidence questioning incomplete or inconsistent documentation
- Strong commercial judgment and numerical skills
- Positive written communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
