About EG HorticultureEstablished in 2003, we are a small horticultural team that work primarily on gardens designed by Eugene Gilligan Garden Design. Our work is varied and extends well beyond routine garden maintenance. You will work across established gardens, newly completed landscapes and gardens in their early stages of development, with a strong focus on plant health, presentation and long-term garden development.

Our horticultural team is actively involved in discussions around upcoming design projects, giving you the opportunity to understand how a garden evolves from its initial design through construction, planting and establishment, and ultimately into maturity.

We believe a great horticulturist should understand not only how to maintain a garden, but why it was designed the way it was and how it can continue to improve over time.

We encourage our team to take ownership of the gardens they care for. We want our horticulturists to look beyond the immediate maintenance requirements, identify issues, notice opportunities and make suggestions about how each garden can be improved.

The RoleThis is an ongoing casual position, 5 days a week, working Monday to Friday.

- 7.00am – 4pm

- No weekend work
- Generous hourly rate, with increased rates for experienced and qualified horticulturists
- A varied mix of garden maintenance, soft landscaping and planting
- Work across high-quality residential gardens throughout Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula

About You We are looking for a passionate and experienced horticulturist who takes genuine pride in their work and has a robust eye for detail.



You will have a genuine interest in plants and an understanding that quality garden maintenance is about more than simply completing a list of tasks - it is about understanding the needs of each garden and maintaining its long-term health and presentation.

You will ideally have:

- Certificate III in Horticulture or above, with proven experience in residential garden maintenance and a strong understanding of plant identification, plant health, soil health and weed management.
- Strong practical horticultural skills, including experience with lawns, perennials, shrubs and trees, as well as confident pruning and hedging skills.
- A professional and reliable approach, with excellent attention to detail, a strong commitment to safe work practices and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
- A genuine passion for horticulture, with an interest in how gardens develop over time and a desire to continually improve your knowledge and skills.
- A current Victorian Manual Driver Licence and the physical fitness required to undertake manual horticultural work.
