Australian Carob Co. is looking for a practical, hardworking and reliable person to join our team at our organic carob orchard and production facility in Booborowie, South Australia.

We are a unique Australian agricultural and food-manufacturing business. Our carob is grown, harvested, processed and packaged entirely on our own farm, where we produce organic carob powder, kibble/nibs, fibre and carob syrup for customers throughout Australia and international markets.

This is not your typical farm job. One day you may be working in the orchard or operating machinery, and the next you could be roasting, milling or packaging carob for an export order.

We are happy to consider applicants at different levels of experience - from an experienced Farm Manager capable of taking significant responsibility for the operation, through to a motivated Farm & Production Operator who wants to learn and grow with the business.

The Role

The position is varied and will involve a combination of farm, orchard, machinery and food-production work, including:

- Orchard maintenance, irrigation and general farm work
- Slashing, pruning and chipping
- Tractor and machinery operation
- Harvesting carob, including operation of our shaker harvester
- Forklift operation and loading/unloading pallets
- Washing, dehydrating and preparing harvested carob
- Roasting and milling
- Operating food-processing and packaging equipment
- Packaging, labelling and palletising finished products
- Preparing wholesale, retail and export orders
- Maintaining a clean and organised food-production environment
- General equipment,



machinery and property maintenance

For an experienced Farm Manager, the position can expand to include responsibility for orchard and irrigation programs, harvest planning, machinery and maintenance programs, production scheduling, inventory, staff coordination, WHS and day-to-day farm and production operations.

Who We're Looking For

More important to us than a long list of qualifications is finding the right person. We're looking for someone who is:

- Hardworking, honest and dependable
- Practical and willing to get their hands dirty
- Able to work independently without needing constant supervision
- Equally comfortable working as part of a small team
- Organised and able to take responsibility for getting jobs completed
- Interested in agriculture, machinery and food production
- Looking for a role they can make their own and potentially grow with over the longer term

Experience with tractors, forklifts, tipper trailers, farm machinery, irrigation systems, orchard operations, food manufacturing or processing equipment would be highly regarded, but not all of these are essential. Basic computer skills for order processing, production records and related tasks would also be beneficial.

Hours & Conditions

We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants. For a full-time employee,



our standard working arrangement is approximately 76 hours per fortnight, predominantly Monday to Friday, allowing you to enjoy your weekends.

Additional hours may occasionally be available for someone who wants them, particularly around harvest and busy production periods.

We offer well above-award remuneration, with the final package dependent on your skills, experience and the level of responsibility you are able to take on.

Accommodation Available

For the right applicant, a three-bedroom, one-bathroom house on the farm can be made available. This could make the position particularly attractive to a couple or young family looking for an affordable regional lifestyle and a long-term opportunity.

Our farm and production facility is located at 65 Orchard Road, Booborowie SA 5417. Australian Carob Co. is unusual in that we control virtually the entire process ourselves. Our carob comes exclusively from our own orchard and is grown, harvested, stored, washed, dehydrated, kibble-cut, roasted, milled and packaged on site.

Our products are supplied throughout Australia and internationally, and the business is continuing to invest in new equipment, increased production capacity and export growth.
