FIFO & Field Service Opportunities

West Pilbara Conveyors (WPC) is looking for experienced Belt Splicers – Level 1 and above to join our growing Field Service team on a casual basis. This is a great opportunity for experienced Belt Splicers looking for flexible field service, shutdown and maintenance opportunities across WA mining operations while becoming part of a supportive and growing WPC team.

We’re looking for reliable, safety-focused people who take pride in their work, work well within a crew and are happy to support a variety of conveyor maintenance activities across different sites and work scopes.

About the Role

As a Field Service Belt Splicer with WPC, you will work across a variety of customer sites, supporting planned maintenance, shutdowns, belt change-outs, repairs and breakdown works. You’ll work alongside WPC supervisors and crew members to safely deliver quality conveyor services while representing WPC professionally on site.

The nature of field service means work locations, durations and requirements may vary, so we’re looking for people who are flexible, reliable and comfortable working across different sites and crews.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties may include:

- Working across various customer and mine sites as required.
- Responding to conveyor breakdowns and unplanned maintenance requirements.
- Conveyor belt installation and belt change-outs.
- Fabric and steel cord splicing.
- Hot and cold repairs, inserts and re-splices.
- General conveyor belt maintenance and inspections.
- Assisting with maintenance of conveyor systems and associated components.
- Equipment and shutdown preparation.
- Safely operating relevant tools and equipment within your level of competency.
- Following site procedures, permits, risk assessments and safe work requirements.
- Working closely with WPC supervisors, coordinators, crew members and client representatives.
- Identifying and reporting hazards, equipment issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintaining WPC's standards of safety, quality and professionalism while representing the business on site.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Belt Splicers with relevant conveyor experience and a strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.



Depending on your level of experience, you will ideally have practical experience across:

- Conveyor belt splicing, repairs and maintenance.
- Belt installations and change-outs.
- Fabric and/or steel cord belt splicing.
- Inserts and re-splices.
- Conveyor inspections and general maintenance.
- Equipment operation and shutdown preparation.
- Working safely within operational mining environments.

- Reliable, punctual and able to communicate effectively.
- Team-focused and willing to support supervisors and fellow crew members.
- Flexible and willing to work across different sites, crews and work scopes.
- Focused on producing quality work with strong attention to detail.
- Professional and respectful when representing WPC on client sites.
- Proactive in identifying hazards, reporting issues and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Tickets

Essential

- Level 1 Belt Splicer or above, with demonstrated conveyor maintenance experience.
- Current C-Class Australian Driver's License.
- Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and site mobilisation requirements.
- Working at Heights.
- Confined Space Entry.

Desirable

The following tickets and qualifications will be highly regarded:

- Gas Test Atmospheres (GTA).
- Dogging (DG).
- Forklift (LF).
- Elevated Work Platform (WP).
- Other relevant High Risk Work Licences and mining/site competencies.
