Reporting to the Site Manager, you will operate a motor grader to achieve precise final levels and finishes in accordance with project plans and design specifications.
Your responsibilities will include
- Completing final trim work to required levels and tolerances
- Trimming and shaping road surfaces, subgrades, batters and drainage systems
- Working from construction plans, survey pegs, laser levels and GPS machine-control systems
- Ensuring correct levels, alignment and surface finishes are achieved
- Conducting pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance
- Identifying and reporting equipment faults and safety concerns
- Working closely with surveyors, supervisors and other operators
- Maintaining a clean and secure work area
- Complying with all WHS requirements and company procedures
About you
To be successful, you will have:
- Proven experience operating graders in final trim applications
- Strong knowledge of civil construction and earthworks
- The ability to read and interpret construction plans and levels
- Experience using GPS machine-control systems such as Topcon or Trimble
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A current driver’s licence
- A Construction Industry White Card
- Relevant machinery tickets or competency certification
GPS machine-control training and other relevant civil construction tickets will be highly regarded.
