Role Description: My client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager with solid operational and commercial capability to take a senior leadership role within an established $30 million business.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and effectively operating as deputy to the GM, this person will join the leadership team as a trusted advisor and take a leading role in the financial, commercial and day-to-day management of the business.

This is not a traditional accounting role.

The successful candidate will bring sound financial discipline together with the confidence and practical capability to work across operations, contracts, people and business performance. They will help take the reins of the existing Australian operation,



allowing the directors and senior leadership team to increasingly focus on international expansion and growth.

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, commercially astute and comfortable operating across the business. They will demonstrate a practical, can-do approach, calm and visible leadership, sound judgement and the ability to manage people, deadlines and competing priorities.

Key responsibilities will include financial management and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and working capital management, commercial analysis, contract administration, claims management, business performance and operational support. The role will work closely with the General Manager and functional leaders to improve accountability, systems, processes and overall business performance.

The successful candidate will be CPA or CA qualified and will have demonstrated experience in a civil construction, manufacturing, engineering or similar operational environment. Practical experience in contract administration and the preparation, assessment and management of commercial claims is essential.

This position will suit a Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager or Financial Controller who is ready to step into a broader business leadership role and become a genuine second-in-command to the General Manager.
