The role The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Commercial and Financial Officer by overseeing financial operations and ensuring APCO's financial activities align with strategic objectives. This permanent full time position is responsible for managing financial reporting, forecasting, and maintaining internal controls, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing key financial insights to drive strategic decision-making. Additionally, the Finance Manager will lead and support the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial records, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimise financial performance.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead financial excellence by driving a high standard of financial management, reporting, governance and compliance, ensuring the organisation has the controls, insights and confidence to operate sustainably and achieve its strategic goals.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, translating financial data into meaningful insights that shape priorities, inform decisions and strengthen organisational performance.
- Work closely to build trust with leaders and teams to build financial capability, challenge thinking and provide practical advice that enables better decisions, smarter resource allocation and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, streamline and modernise financial processes, embracing technology, automation and innovative approaches to create a more efficient and effective finance function.




- Develop a high-performing, collaborative team and contribute as a trusted member of the Leadership Team, championing accountability, transparency, integrity and a culture of continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring:

- Relevant qualification such as a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field or CPA or CA qualification
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar role.
- A background in a member-based organisation or not-for-profit setting (desirable)
- Strong working knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements within the Australian financial landscape.
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools, such as Xero or similar.
