Casual Defects Estimator – Fire Detection

We are currently seeking an experienced Casual Defects Estimator to support our Fire Detection division. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of fire alarm systems, defect rectification, and quotation preparation, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.

Previous Simpro experience is essential.

## About the Role

As a Defects Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing fire detection inspection and service reports, identifying rectification requirements, and preparing accurate quotations for clients. You will play a key role in helping our customers maintain compliant, reliable, and fully operational fire detection systems.

## Key Responsibilities

- Review fire detection inspection and maintenance reports.
- Assess defects and determine required rectification works.
- Prepare accurate defect quotations using Simpro.
- Liaise with service technicians to clarify defect findings and scope of works.
- Source pricing for materials and subcontractors.
- Manage quotation workflows and follow-up activities.
- Ensure urgent and compliance-related defects are prioritised.
- Maintain accurate customer and job records within Simpro.
- Support service and operations teams as required.

## Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience using Simpro for estimating and quotation management.




- Experience within the fire protection, fire detection, electrical, or building services industry.
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and defect rectification processes.
- Ability to interpret technical service reports and identify required works.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

## Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Australian Standards relating to fire detection systems.
- Experience with commercial fire alarm systems and major fire detection brands.
- Previous experience in a service coordination, estimating, or compliance-related role.
- Understanding of fire maintenance contracts and service delivery.
