Financial Controller - Big 4 Consulting Background

$160,000 – $180,000 + Super | Western Sydney A newly created opportunity with an established international organisation undergoing a significant period of growth in Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional with a Big 4 consulting, transaction services or M&A; background to move into a high-impact Business Controller position, with genuine ownership of the finance function for a major new Australian operation.

You will work closely with Operations and senior leadership, providing financial insight, commercial analysis and strategic support as the operation scales.

The role will suit someone who has built a strong foundation in Big 4 consulting, M&A;, transaction services or financial advisor y and has since gained exposure to commercial finance, operational decision-making or business partnering.

You will have the opportunity to move beyond advisory and analysis into a role where you can own the numbers, influence decisions and help build the financial infrastructure of a growing operation.

The Role The position is approximately 60% financial control and reporting and 40% commercial partnering , giving you broad exposure across both finance and the wider business.

Key responsibilities include:

- Own monthly financial reporting, management packs and financial commentary
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and cash-flow forecasting
- Maintain strong financial controls and support audit and tax requirements
- Partner with Operations on labour costs, overtime, KPIs and cost optimisation
- Provide commercial analysis and financial insight to support operational decision-making
- Lead financial analysis, investment cases and business cases for CAPEX
- Evaluate financial performance, risks and key financial commitments
- Support senior leadership with analysis and recommendations on business performance
- Work with stakeholders to improve processes,



reporting and financial visibility
- Help establish and strengthen finance processes as the Australian operation develops
- Act as the key finance representative for the operation

About You We are particularly interested in candidates who have developed their career within Big 4 consulting, M&A;, transaction services, corporate finance or financial advisory, combined with subsequent commercial finance or business partnering experience.

You will ideally bring

- CA or CPA qualification
- 10–15+ years' relevant finance, advisory and/or commercial experience
- A background with a Big 4 firm, ideally across consulting, M&A;, transaction services, corporate finance or financial advisory
- Strong financial analysis and financial modelling capability
- Experience translating complex financial information into clear commercial recommendations
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Commercial experience partnering with Operations, senior stakeholders or business leaders
- Experience with investment analysis, business cases, CAPEX or M&A-related; analysis
- Strong understanding of financial controls and financial performance
- Experience working within a sophisticated ERP environment
- The ability to move comfortably between detailed financial analysis and high-level commercial discussions
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The confidence and maturity to operate independently and take ownership

We are particularly interested in candidates who are commercially curious,



analytically strong and looking to step into a role with broader ownership and influence. A background in FMCG, manufacturing, logistics & supply chain, food & beverage, industrial services or another large-scale operational environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.

The role is predominantly onsite in Western Sydney, with the potential for one day working from home once established and subject to business requirements. Initial interstate travel will be required for training, with occasional travel thereafter.
