Are you a surveillance or analytical markets professional who has spent the last few years turning large, complex datasets into answers? Someone who investigates unusual trading, understands why a pattern looks off, and won't stop digging until the picture is clear? If you want to bring that experience to a team that pairs deep data analysis with automation to keep markets clean - in a collaborative environment where success is shared - we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Investigate trade surveillance alerts end-to-end: reconstructing order and trade activity from market data, and reviewing related communications, to identify risk factors, potential market abuse and undesired conduct, and establish what actually happened and why.
- Analyse large sets of market and trade data using SQL, Python and AI-assisted workflows to detect, evaluate and explain unusual trading patterns and assess potential risk.
- Build and automate detection logic, tooling and data pipelines - including AI and machine-learning-driven systems - that make surveillance faster, sharper and more scalable.
- Leverage AI workflows and systems to investigate alerts and surface risk more effectively, and help design, build and refine those systems.
- Design and test controls to detect and prevent market abuse, then measure whether they actually work.
- Contribute to the execution and continuous improvement of the compliance monitoring and surveillance framework.
- Review surveillance electronic communications alerts and follow them up to resolution.
- Combine technical skill with a solid understanding of the regulatory framework to keep controls fit for purpose.
- Identify gaps in the surveillance framework and push improvements that mitigate the firm's biggest risks and enable growth.
- Advise on and support the implementation of compliance requirements.
- Build robust communication lines across functions to enhance collaboration.
Who We're Looking For
- Analytical mindset - cuts through noisy, complex data to figure out what's really happening, flags outliers and unusual behaviour, and follows the thread until the answer is clear.
- Practical data skills - works comfortably in SQL and Python, hands-on with large, messy market and trade datasets.
- Capability with automation and AI - naturally looks to build or apply AI/ML tools and workflows that make surveillance more efficient and effective.
- Working regulatory knowledge - understands the market abuse and regulatory landscape well enough to apply it as context, not as a checklist to start from.
- Strong communicator - can turn a complicated finding into something simple and precise, on paper and in conversation.
- Driven and team-oriented - proactive, outcome-focused, and good at building relationships across teams.
- Relevant credentials - a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with exchange or regulatory experience seen as a plus.
What's on Offer
- A high-performing, collaborative culture surrounded by curious thinkers and creative problem solvers.
- A strong, performance-based reward structure.
- Training, mentorship and genuine personal development opportunities.
- A well-resourced, high-quality office environment (on-site catering, wellness perks, regular social events).
