The Financial Operations section is responsible for ensuring a high-quality financial environment for the department through robust governance and processes and by providing accurate and timely guidance on financial operation matters. The section delivers accounts payable and receivable, treasury management, travel and purchase card management and financial systems administration.
The Financial Operations section is looking for a Financial Systems Administrator, reporting to the Assistant Director, Financial Systems, to manage and provide technical support for the departments Financial Management Information Systems, including TechnologyOne, Expense8 and interfaces with numerous other internal systems.
The successful candidate will have strong technical and analytical skills, sound understanding of government processes, and the communication skills to translate complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Providing high quality, service focussed customer support, training, advice and issue resolution to users and stakeholders across the department in relation to all Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) via the FMIS Help Desk.
- Building and sustaining collaborative relationships within the Finance Branch to enable them to provide high-quality reporting, support and advice to clients across the department.
- Managing the life cycle of FMIS products including system monitoring, configuration, maintenance, upgrades and testing in accordance with vendor and team processes.
- Identifying and proposing opportunities for continuous improvement including the ongoing development and enhancement of systems, templates and guidance materials via stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering and business process mapping.
- Assisting the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of administration, governance and audit procedures and documents, including financial delegations, user access provisioning and review,
and change management policies in accordance with audit compliance standards.
- Assisting with End of Month and End of Financial Year processes.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience with TechnologyOne.
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
- The successful candidate will be required obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
