About the role: Make a meaningful difference by helping drive reconciliation, cultural safety and accountable organisational change across a respected not-for-profit organisation. This identified position provides strategic cultural advice, supports implementation of The Buttery's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and helps strengthen policies, workforce capability, partnerships, service design and continuous improvement for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Reporting to the CEO, you will work across the organisation to support culturally safe, equitable and accessible practice while building the capability of leaders and teams to engage respectfully with communities. In this role you'll get the opportunity to:

- Provide high-level cultural advice to the CEO, Executive and Leadership Teams.
- Support implementation, monitoring and reporting of RAP commitments.
- Influence organisational policies, procedures, communications and service improvements.
- Strengthen workforce capability through coaching, mentoring and cultural guidance.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and organisations.
- Represent The Buttery at relevant interagency meetings, conferences, networks and forums.
- Contribute to organisational strategy, quality improvement and future service development.

Hours and location: Based in Coffs Harbour this role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance. Working in a hybrid capacity, you'll split your time between Coffs harbour office, work from home and travel through our footprint to engage with other communities between Tweed and Port Macquarie. A pool work vehicle is provided. This position is funded until 30 June 2027, with strong potential for extension as part of our expanding community services $$$: This role will be remunerated at SCHCDS Level 6 $58-60ph with access to salary packaging to potentially increase your take home pay by another 5k.

- Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted in the community as such. Note Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)
- Current driver's licence with the capacity to undertake regular travel around the footprint, a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated strong cultural knowledge and demonstrated ability to provide cultural advice, coordinate implementation work, influence organisational systems, build workforce capability, and support respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders
- Experience in areas such as cultural governance, policy review, organisational development, service improvement, co-design, organisational representation, community consultation, and/or program/service development.
- Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft suite, a variety of databases and video conferencing tools such as Teams.

Desirable

- Understanding of cultural safety, intersectionality, trauma-aware practice, data sovereignty, and ethical engagement.
- Understanding of how reconciliation, workforce development, partnerships, communications, quality improvement and service growth interconnect within a not-for-profit organisation.
