THE OPPORTUNITYWe’re looking for a talented Mid-Weight Digital Designer to join the JTB design team on an initial freelance basis, with the genuine possibility of moving into a permanent full-time role.

This is a hands-on design position for someone who loves creating polished, highly considered digital experiences.

You’ll work across a diverse range of projects including large corporate websites, education websites, digital products, campaigns, landing pages, eCommerce experiences and interactive digital platforms.

You’ll collaborate closely with our Creative Director, designers, UX strategists, developers and project managers to take projects from early concepts through to beautifully executed final designs.

We are looking for someone who can bring ideas to the table, not simply execute instructions.

You should have a strong eye for typography, layout, composition, interaction and digital design systems, together with an understanding of how excellent design needs to work responsively across desktop, tablet and mobile.

Most importantly, your folio needs to be excellent.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGYou’ll be involved in:

- Designing beautiful, contemporary websites and digital experiences




- Creating high-quality UI designs in Figma
- Developing visual concepts and creative directions for new projects
- Translating UX strategy, wireframes and user journeys into polished digital interfaces
- Designing responsive experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile
- Creating and maintaining design systems and reusable UI components
- Exploring interactions, transitions, animation and motion concepts
- Working closely with developers to ensure the final experience reflects the original design intent
- Collaborating with senior designers and our Creative Director on larger projects
- Participating in internal and client design reviews
- Presenting and explaining design thinking when required
- Supporting pitch concepts, new business presentations and campaign creative
- Bringing inspiration, ideas and new digital design trends into the agency

- WHO WE’RE LOOKING FORYou’re likely a designer with approximately 3-5+ years of professional digital design experience, ideally gained within a digital, creative or advertising agency. You have a strong portfolio that demonstrates sophisticated digital design and exceptional attention to detail.

You are comfortable taking an initial brief, wireframe or creative direction and developing it into something visually compelling.

You enjoy collaborating with other designers but are equally comfortable taking ownership of your own work.

You understand that beautiful digital design also needs to be usable, responsive, accessible and technically achievable.

And you care about the details.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCEWe’d love you to have:

- A genuinely strong digital design portfolio
- Strong UI and visual design skills
- Excellent Figma skills
- Strong typography, colour, layout and composition skills
- Experience designing contemporary websites and responsive digital experiences
- Understanding of UX principles and user-centred design




- Experience working with design systems and component libraries
- An understanding of responsive and mobile-first design
- Experience collaborating with developers
- Ability to interpret wireframes and transform them into sophisticated UI
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage your time and work across multiple projects
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively

Experience with motion design, prototyping, animation, Adobe Creative Suite or emerging AI-assisted design tools would also be highly regarded. YOU’LL PROBABLY LOVE THIS ROLE IF...You regularly notice the tiny details other people miss.

You bookmark beautifully designed websites.

You care about whether a button is 2 pixels out.

You can explain why one design feels more premium than another.

You enjoy experimenting with typography, interaction and visual hierarchy.

You like working alongside developers rather than throwing designs over the fence.
