Full Time Assistant – General Plastic Ballarat

Location: Ballarat, VIC

Hours: Full Time.

We’re looking for a hands-on, reliable, and detail-oriented person to join our team at General Plastic Ballarat. If you enjoy practical workshop tasks, helping customers, learning new skills and being part of a small, supportive team, this could be the perfect role for you!

About the Role

This is a varied role combining hands-on workshop duties with customer service and front-desk support.

You’ll assist with cutting, finishing and preparing plastic materials for production and customer orders. You’ll also help customers, process orders and take payments at the front desk, including providing additional support when other team members are on leave.

Training will be provided on our machines, products and processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Use hand tools to prepare and finish plastic products
- Assist with machine operation, including the CNC router and laser cutter, with training provided
- Assist customers in person, over the phone and via email
- Process customer orders, prepare basic paperwork and take payments




- Provide front-desk coverage when other team members are on leave
- Follow instructions and production schedules
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Support the team with general workshop and day-to-day duties

Skills & Experience

- Experience using hand tools
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence using computers and processing customer orders
- A reliable, adaptable and team-focused approach
- Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
- Forklift licence preferred
- CNC router and/or laser cutting experience preferred but not required
