Game Art & Animation Trainer – Full-Time
Full time | Hybrid / Remote | Game Art & Animation Education
We are looking for a Game Art & Animation Trainer and assessor to join our training team. This is a full-time role focused on delivering practical, industry-relevant training and assessment to students developing skills for careers in game art, animation and real-time 3D.
Our courses are delivered primarily online, with flexibility for remote and hybrid work.
The Role
You will teach and support students across a range of game art and animation disciplines, including:
- 3D modelling and texturing
- Game art and environment creation
- Character creation, rigging and animation
- Digital art and concept development
- Unreal Engine workflows
- Portfolio and independent creative project development
The role combines structured online classes, practical demonstrations, individual student support, assessment and feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging online classes and practical software demonstrations
- Provide individual support and technical troubleshooting to students
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
- Support students through creative projects from concept through to final presentation
- Maintain appropriate student progress and assessment records
- Work collaboratively with the training team to maintain and improve course delivery
- Help students develop professional workflows and industry-ready portfolios
- Participate in teacher meetings and contribute to course development
Technical Skills Applicants should have practical experience with:
- Unreal Engine
- Autodesk Maya and/or Blender
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Substance 3D Painter
- 3D modelling, UV mapping and texturing
- Real-time/game art production workflows
Experience in areas such as character modelling, rigging, animation, environment art, materials or VFX is also highly regarded. Training & Education Experience
Ideally, applicants will have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent/relevant training qualification
- Experience teaching within TAFE, an RTO, VET or another vocational training environment
- Experience with competency-based training and assessment
- Robust communication and student-support skills
Applicants with strong game art and animation industry experience who do not currently hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment may also be considered.
Employment
This is a full-time position, with training delivered primarily online. Remote work is available, with opportunities for hybrid delivery depending on location and course requirements.
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to explain creative and technical concepts clearly, support students at different skill levels, and create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Eligibility
Applicants must be currently based in Australia and have full working rights in Australia.
Please note that this position is not available to applicants based overseas.
Pay: $65,648.32 – $85,926.92 per year
