Riverland Handy Service is a long established Riverland small family business offering three different services mainly to private clients on the NDIS and similar insurance/disability schemes.

We have a vacancy with immediate start for an enthusiastic Gardener whom is used to looking after residential properties. Do you have any experience in Lawn Mowing, Weeding and Punning ?

Do you Know your way around 2 stroke and 4 stroke Mowers, Trimmers etc. ?

Do you have any experience in Hand Trimming and Weed Control ?

Do you have the know how to Tow, Couple/Un-Couple, Secure a Trailer and loose loads ?

Do you enjoy your own company but can step up in a team when required ?

Do you believe your communication skills promote Trust, Understanding and sincerity ?

Answering YES to those questions about yourself could be your chance at starting a current and rewarding career in Garden Maintenance.

Once a Paid 5 day initial Skills and Suitability "on the Job" Assessment period has been completed successfully, you will undertake one month of working alongside One of our Gardeners to familiarise yourself with the weekly schedules, Time Keeping, Equipment use and care, and Customer interaction. If this period is satisfactory by both parties, you will be offered a starting Casual Position of around 20hrs weekly, plus any extras or cover for sickness etc. You would then be working mainly on your own at regular clients properties, in and around the Riverland area,



but with help/assistance a phone call away if needed.

For the right person whom shows and demonstrates the qualities we require, with a willingness to do more and help further expansion of our business, WILL, after 12 months, be considered for a full time Position.

The position comes with (after all assessments are competed) a Company Vehicle and suitable Gardening Trailer (with limited private use), Mobile Phone, Uniform, PPE and all the Tools and Equipment needed to carry out the different tasks required. Also, there is NO working Weekends, Public Holidays or Shifts. You will be working a minimum of 20 hours a week, Monday To Friday between 9am to 3pm and this is flexible around School times if you are the Kids taxi !.

The tasks are carried out under strict time restraints, costing limits and schedules that are set weekly by ourselves, so a strong personal time keeping and work ethic is important.

We uphold and maintain a Family attitude and work as a team regardless of which department you are in. You are treated as an equal not a number and if you have a concern or issue, it is dealt with within a timely manner.



We want you to enjoy your time with us and to build a good solid working relationship with our mostly elderly and/or mentality and physically challenged regular clients.

Before applying for this position, please consider the following: You need to live in the local area (not Waikerie as we do not cover that part). You MUST be able to drive Manual Transmission Vehicles and hold a Full clean Car License. A recent National Police Check is required or you must be willing to get one.

You will need to be in good health as the work can be very physical (no bad backs, aching knees, restricted movement in any joints, vertigo or allergies to gardening products). We (Riverland Handy Service) have a very, very, very strong NO DRUGS or Alcohol policy, so your system MUST be free of Drugs and Alcohol during work hours and this includes carrying any Drugs/Alcohol on your person or in a company vehicle. (Spot testing is carried out). Please remember that “Recreational Drugs” can show up in your system 48hrs after use.

You must also not be under the influence of Alcohol or have the "odor" during work hours. Smoking is permited in certain areas.

This position is very suitable for "back to work" Mums or Dads whom still need to be home after School finishes but, please ensure you have cover for the Children during the School holidays, Teacher Training days, Sick days etc.
