Warnumamalya Health Services Aboriginal Corporation (WHSAC) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated professional to take up the role as the General Manager. You will be responsible for working with WHSAC Directors and Members and key stakeholders to drive and progress Anindilyakwa priorities outlined in the Health and Wellbeing Implementation Plan.

You will provide high level executive services and strategic support to WHSAC, with primary responsibility to support and build capacity of WHSAC to address/meet Anindilyakwa priorities for health and wellbeing.

The position will work proactively to engage with service providers, government agencies, Traditional Owners and Anindilyakwa communities.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Identify and develop project plans, funding arrangements and other initiatives as appropriate to realise and progress identified priorities and actions outlined in the LDM Health and Wellbeing Implementation Plan.
- Identity opportunities and implement initiatives to build WHSAC's capacity.
- Provide secretariat support for the Groote Archipelago Health and Wellbeing Advisory Group, and WHSAC Board and member meetings.
- Working in collaboration with WHSAC's Board and Members, develop and manage projects through to completion including grant management, community-led initiatives, program evaluation and reporting.
- Establish effective and collaborative partnerships with government agencies and external stakeholders, including relevant organisations, companies and peak bodies, and draw on these relationships to facilitate positive outcomes.




- Facilitate consultations to identify community-led strategies and action plans that promote better health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Communicate with influence and a high level of professionalism and cultural sensitivity across all tiers of government, regional and local stakeholders, including community leaders to support effective development and implementation of a range of strategic initiatives.
- Undertake risk analysis and planning in order to manage project delivery to achieve quality outcomes, on time and on budget.

Essential Selection Criteria

1. A genuine interest in and understanding of Anindilyakwa priorities for health and wellbeing, as identified in the Health and Wellbeing Implementation Plan under the Groote Archipelago Local Decision-Making Agreement coupled with experience working in remote communities and ability to undertake meaningful community engagement which acknowledges and respects Aboriginal kinship systems governing relationships and day to day interactions.
2. Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of strategic health initiatives and programs.
3. Ability to effectively manage and recruit staff, including Traditional Owners, to support resourcing and capacity building of WHSAC.
4. High-level planning and organisational skills,



with a demonstrated ability to lead projects from inception through to completion to achieve quality outcomes.
5. Demonstrated experience in business/service development and delivery, including through effective mapping and planning in accordance with strategic objectives.
6. Well-developed social awareness including an understanding of the complexities of Aboriginal cultural, social and economic issues and how they may impact on workforce and business development objectives.
7. Demonstrated high degree of judgement and the ability to understand the broader operating environment and deal appropriately with matters of a highly sensitive or confidential nature.
8. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, facilitation, cross-cultural communication and client-focus skills, and the ability to engage, develop and maintain robust working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultures.
9. Highly developed written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse audiences, and provide advice and support to people at various levels.
10. Ability to respond in a positive, dynamic and flexible manner to change, including strong problem solving skills.
11. Demonstrated proficiency in grant management, budget management, project management, strategic planning and evaluation.

Desirable Extensive experience coupled with a relevant qualification in health, community development or project management, will be highly regarded.
