Our Purpose:
Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.
The program includes building three current hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working for HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?
Our Graduate Program offers you:
- The opportunity to join the Department of Health in a graduate program.
- Attractive and competitive salary and generous employer superannuation contributions and leave loading.
- Excellent work/life balance with flexible work options over a 36.25 hour working week.
- Exposure to various work areas of the infrastructure life cycle.
- A wide range of educational training is available to support employees who wish to continue their professional development.
- You will contribute to making a difference in the lives of Queenslanders.
About the role As a Graduate with Health Infrastructure Queensland, you will have the rewarding role of contributing to health infrastructure projects across Queensland. As part of the program, you will have an opportunity to work alongside industry professionals across a number of infrastructure functions including planning and design, project delivery, program performance, governance, risk and compliance, furniture, fittings and equipment, operational commissioning and procurement and contracts.
During the program, you will build your professional skills and contribute to meaningful projects with real impact. Designed to build on the knowledge you gained at university, the program helps you develop public sector expertise through a mix of work rotations, internal training, and formal learning and development.
If you're a recent university graduate looking for an exciting opportunity and the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply!
