About the Opportunity

Join an award-winning multidisciplinary orthopaedic centre that brings specialist consultation, imaging, allied health, treatment and rehabilitation together in one place. Joint Vision Orthopaedic Group is seeking a hand therapist to join our growing allied health team for two days per week.

This role would suit an Accredited Hand Therapist, as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association, or an experienced occupational therapist or physiotherapist currently working towards AHT accreditation.

You’ll manage a varied caseload across hand, wrist, elbow and upper-limb conditions, including acute injuries, fractures, post-operative rehabilitation and longer-term musculoskeletal presentations.

Working directly alongside orthopaedic surgeons, you’ll be closely involved in assessment, treatment planning and rehabilitation. Our on-site X-ray and ultrasound services allow investigations to be coordinated efficiently, while close communication between clinicians supports continuity throughout each patient’s care.

The role also provides an opportunity to help shape and expand Joint Vision’s hand therapy service as the centre continues to grow.

Our modern facility includes

- Dedicated consultation and treatment rooms
- On-site X-ray and ultrasound
- Injury & Fracture Clinic
- Large rehabilitation gym
- On-site orthotics laboratory
- Access to current rehabilitation and medical technologies
- A multidisciplinary team of surgeons, medical specialists and allied health clinicians

We provide regular mentoring, professional development and opportunities for the role to grow according to your experience and areas of interest.

About You

You are an occupational therapist or physiotherapist with experience in hand and upper-limb rehabilitation. You communicate clearly and work well with patients, surgeons, referrers and other members of the clinical team. You are comfortable managing your own caseload while contributing to shared treatment planning and coordinated patient care.

You take a practical, evidence-informed approach to assessment and rehabilitation. You are organised, accountable and committed to delivering a positive patient experience.

Accredited Hand Therapist status is highly desirable. We will also consider clinicians with substantial hand therapy experience who are currently working towards AHT accreditation.

The Role May Include

- Assessment and treatment of hand, wrist, elbow and upper-limb conditions
- Rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery
- Management of fractures, soft-tissue injuries and musculoskeletal presentations
- Custom thermoplastic splinting and orthosis fabrication
- Wound, scar and oedema management within your skilled scope
- Range-of-motion, strengthening and functional rehabilitation programs
- Coordination with orthopaedic surgeons and the wider allied health team
- Patient education and home rehabilitation planning

- Contribution to clinical pathways and the continued development of our hand therapy service

- Current AHPRA registration
- Experience in hand and upper-limb therapy
- Sound clinical reasoning and a patient-centred approach
