About the role

Outback Coast Group Pty Ltd is seeking experienced HD Fitters to join our team at our Denham, WA location. This is a full time position offering the opportunity to work in the mining, resources and energy sector within an engineering and maintenance capacity. You will be responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of heavy diesel equipment and components, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards across our operations.

This role is integral to maintaining our fleet's operational efficiency and supporting our broader business objectives in Western Australia's resource sector.

Key responsibilities

1. Install, assemble, and fit heavy diesel engine components and hydraulic systems with precision and attention to detail
2. Perform routine maintenance and servicing on heavy diesel equipment, including engines, transmissions, and related mechanical systems
3. Diagnose mechanical faults and undertake repairs using technical expertise and appropriate tools
4. Conduct inspections and testing of fitted equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements
5. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs completed, and equipment performance
6. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to prioritise workload and meet operational deadlines
7. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols on site
8. Continuously improve skills and stay current with industry best practices and technological advances

What we're looking for

1. Recognised trade qualification in diesel fitting, heavy vehicle mechanics, or equivalent engineering discipline
2. Proven experience as an HD fitter or heavy diesel mechanic, ideally in the mining or resources industry
3. Strong technical knowledge of heavy diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and transmission components
4. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation
5.



Competency with mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment relevant to heavy diesel maintenance
6. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
8. Current driver's licence and willingness to work in remote locations
9. Relevant site-specific inductions and tickets (such as site-specific safety certifications) are advantageous
10. Strong health and safety awareness with a commitment to zero-incident operations
