About the role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards across food quality, presentation, service and kitchen operations. You will work closely with the management team to develop menus that reflect the Ironcreek Bay dining experience while maintaining strong commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and develop the kitchen team

- Oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations and service

- Develop and maintain seasonal menus and daily specials

- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control

- Manage food preparation, ordering, stock control and kitchen organisation

- Monitor food costs, wastage and kitchen profitability

- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and compliance

- Manage kitchen rosters and labour requirements

- Work closely with front-of-house and management to deliver smooth service

- Train and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff

About you

- Proven experience as a Head Chef,



Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a quality hospitality environment

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Excellent knowledge of modern Australian / contemporary cuisine
- A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality produce

- Strong menu development and food costing skills

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- A strong understanding of food safety and HACCP principles
- The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example

- Strong communication and collaboration skills
